| Great for JB and DC. Sorry for Kubica, think its unfair MS getting a point despite not finishing, something not right with that rule, think no one should get the point then. |

Ferrari always have good luck - it really hacks me off sometimes...
Anyways, I was in Holland over the weekend seeing my family but LUCKILY i found a TV to watch the race....wasnt it fab!? Just like the old days. I am very pleased for Jenson, about time too! Atleast the press ("when will he win?") will be off his back now.
And WELL DONE DC!!!!! The points keep rolling in! |

So...........typical of ferrari luck then once again? gaining a further 2 points by default of the rules....
why was MS not penalised for not letting Pedro pass then? and even by the second lap, Pedro had to still work for it and finally get the position.. the fact just over one lap had passed before he actually took the rightful position over MS, why has MS not been penalised by the FIA rule book for not giving pedro the clear track... under rules the advantaged driver must retreat before a full lap is completed, without struggle. |

What i did find quite ironic was at the end of ITVs coverage when Ryder and Brundell were summing up was the sight of both Williams going back to the pits on recovery lorries. Coincidence or stage managed.??? |

It's ok - just realised it's because of the 10% rule etc that he got his point. |

| OK - I'm confused - why does MS get a point as he retired from the race??? Can someone please explain that? Am I missing something? What makes him get a point and Alonso zero????????? BOTH of them went out. |

His car was underweight 2kg-- tyres apparently if he had put on new tyres at last stop he would have been alright. M/S gets 1 point for sitting in the garage -- dont seem right does it.-- Also it was the wheel nut at fault with F/A car apparently.
D/c considered himself lucky to survive a chaotic race after several close calls. "My car is looking pretty sorry for itself to be honest. I came together with Kubica in the first corner and lost the side of my endplate, and then later with M/S when he spun, which broke the side of the car a little bit too.
R/B banged wheels with me at the chicane and then Trulli came down the inside of me and nearly hit me, So with everything we had going on i realise i was pretty lucky to finish and get some points, Its good to extend our position over Williams".
"Id like to say a big congratulations to J/B too. Ive always been in the camp of those who believed that he undoubtedly had the ability to win, he just needed the right cicumstance. Today gave him that circumstance and it was long overdue. Hearty congratulations to Jenson, Its his day today" |

Kubica disqualified, Schumacher scores
06 August 2006
Robert Kubica has been disqualified from the results of the Hungarian Grand Prix after his BMW Sauber was found to be underweight following the race. Kubica had finished seventh on his Formula One debut.
Stewards praised the "assistance and cooperation" they received from the BMW Sauber team, who proved that Kubica’s car was inadvertently 2 kilograms below the minimum requirement because of "excessive and unexpected tyre wear (and therefore weight loss) through continued use of wet-weather tyres in comparison to the accustomed and anticipated rate of wear of dry tyres."
The stewards nevertheless had no choice but to exclude the car as it did not comply with Article 4.1 of the Technical Regulations. BMW Sauber did not contest the decision. It means Felipe Massa moves up to seventh place, with Michael Schumacher now classified eighth, despite not finishing the race.
The point Schumacher scores means he is now just ten behind Fernando Alonso in the drivers’ championship standings, while Ferrari are only seven behind Renault in the race for the constructors’ crown.

That to me is unfair. I think they need to change the rules so that it doesnt matter how many laps were completed! He retired so shouldnt get anything in my book and its not just coz its MS either, would say the same for any driver. |

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FANTASTIC win by Jenson and the Honda team, thoroughly deserved. When he was catching Alonso i was getting very excited, but didnt want him to pass him because of the championship points Alonso needs! Then Alonso went and was just hoping JBs car would last and it did, was a great moment. And to do it where Hill and Mansell took their first victories was fantastic. The last 17 laps were hardly watchable and i cant stop smiling.
As for the other British driver, our man of course, a great drive from him and 5th place is fantastic for him and the team too.
Was definatly the best race of the year so far, although Monaco was a fantastic race too.
Celebrations all round tonight and the championship points gap still 11! |
