| I like Rubens, and I think he did an interesting interview in F1 racing. I hope he carries on. |

Rubens Barrichello has moved to stamp out wild rumours that he plans to retire from the sport after his Honda contract expires at the end of 2007.
The 34-year-old Brazilian – the third oldest driver in F1 – laughed off the rumours in his latest weekly column on his website, adding that he has never been more motivated than he is now.
“In the midst of all this hard work [in relation to his Jerez test last week], I suddenly come across news of my own retirement. GIVE ME A BREAK!" he said.
"I think I've never driven this well nor been this happy, so retirement is something to think of only way, way ahead."
The rumours were apparently inspired by German magazine Bild which last week quoted him as saying he did not want to break Riccardo Patrese’s record of 256 GP starts.
Rubens is 26 short of that and would need to continue racing into 2008 to achieve that goal.
Barrichello was the youngest driver in the field when he began his Formula 1 career in 1993 with Jordan.
Since then Rubens has only missed one race - the ill-fated 1994 San Marino Grand Prix where he crashed in practice – in a career that has spanned stints at Jordan, Stewart GP, Ferrari and Honda.

I didn't say that Rubens was the second oldest, but he is the second most experienced.
I think DC is the second oldest, and then JV!!
and as for only being 21 Roy, bless your little cotton socks, it would be very difficult having a son who is 16!!! |

I said no he shouldnt, purely because he is one of the good guys in the pitlane, always willing to talk to the media and fans etc. But i can see why he would retire with his young family. Would miss his presence greatly.
As for being the 2nd oldest after MS, i believe DC is the 3rd! A sad day |

| I like RB and will be sad to see him leave the sport but it will come to all of them eventually including DC which hopefully will be in the very distant future. |

| Time will tell. Rubens is a great bloke, will be sorry to see him go when he does, but at least it will make room for some new guys, and at least its not DC, not yet. |
