OK so Ron reckons no-one was to blame
Montoya claims Kimi was the culprit by breaking too hard
Others have claimed that Montoya may have caused it all
What do you think??? _________________ Carol xxx |

| Quote: | Stewards take no action over accidents
Sunday, July 2nd 2006, 22:48 GMT
The race stewards have decided that no action is necessary over the first corner accidents that marred the United States Grand Prix.
The drivers involved in the two separate crashes were asked to report to the stewards after the race for an investigation into the incidents.
But after interviewing Mark Webber and Christian Klien over their accident, and Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya over theirs, the stewards decided that both were racing accidents.

However on the Red Bull site DC starts by thankng Montoya for causing the accident and allowing hm to get some more points!!!!
| Quote: | David Coulthard – Finished 7th/Q17
“Firstly, a special thanks to Montoya for his contribution to my points finish! I was up alongside Christian at the start going into turn one and could see Tonio coming up on the outside. I didn’t like the look of it, so I backed off, kept in the middle of the road and let them all go past.
“I understand that Montoya then created a shunt, so we picked up a lot of places there. From there, it was just a battle with Liuzzi and Rosberg. The team’s strategist did a great job today and again my engineer gave me some good advice on the radio, so we were able to get out in front of Nico.”

It's a difficult call this one, I'd put it down to a racing incident, both Macs were fuelled heavy, stopping so quick might not have been an option for JPM hence the collision. Still, proved pretty good for DC so I'd like to thank JPM too |

I'm with Leeca on this one, racing incident, but thanks anyway Monty.
It just goes to show how DC's experience paid off. Over the years he has learnt that sometimes it can be better to back off when it looks like there is trouble ahead. I wonder if it had been in his earlier years then he might have reacted differently and got caught up in the incident. |

Im still blaming Monty! From what ive read by a few other drivers there were 3 cars, not Monty, aline into the first corner and Monty thought he could overtake them all!! Squeezing into spaces that werent there! _________________ DC's supergirl!! |
