| Quote: | Britain: Jenson Button can win at Silverstone
By Phil Huff - June 4 2006
Former Formula One world champion Damon Hill thinks that Honda Racing F1's Jenson Button has what it takes to win at the forthcoming British Grand Prix.
Hill, President of British Racing Drivers' Club that owns Silverstone, is excited about the current season, and is supportive of the British talent entering the race. "This has been one of the best starts to a Formula One season for some time," said Damon at a recent press event for the race. "Alonso and Schumacher are locked in battle at the top, but it would be great to see Jenson get on the podium at Silverstone.
"He's under pressure from the British media and public to get that elusive first win, and if Honda can move up a few places from Monaco, he could definitely make it on to the podium at Silverstone in front of a hugely passionate home crowd."
He then went even further: "He may even get his first win - it's a serious possibility."
As things stand now, there are a number of grandstand seats available for the event, starting at £189 for a three day pass. General admission tickets are sold |
Personaly I think Damon's not being realistic. I think DC stands more chanceof winning than JB. |

I don't think that's realistic either
jenson himself said it was not possible for him to win with the current honda....I hope DC will be top brit but a podium for him is just as unrealistic |

Well sorry I voted for definately Jenson CAN win at Silverstone, but no I haven't gone bonkers!! (well no more than usual)
As far as I am concerned anyone CAN win any race, every race has its own litte quirks, if it were to rain, it could take out lots of drivers, and give a surprise result, or there could be lots of engine blow ups etc , eg Monaco where there were only 3 finishers one year. Or the race could be cut short giving an unpredictable winner such as a few years ago in Brazil!!
It makes me mad when I see drivers say they don't have a chance at a race, specially before they have even got there. F1 can be so unpredictable EVERYONE has a chance!
Saying that, I don't think he has a chance, but he COULD!!
Confused?? Yeah me too!! _________________ Carol xxx |

Surely then that means Possibly Cas, not definately.
Anyway, thats me being pedantic so I'll shut up now.
I would love DC to get a podium even if it is unrealistic. I posted that JB doesn't think he has a chance, I think DH has his head in the clouds. I think based on Monaco DC has a more realistic chance of a higher finish, but I could be wrong and that could have been a one off. I hope it wasn't though. |

I'm not sure either way but I agree with Cas that any driver could be in with a chance as anything can happen.
Would be nice to see a Brit win, but I want that to be DC obviously. |

| I think JB will win a race, but I don't know when, not sure it will be this year, probably next if not. But I think he will win one. |

Actually it means that he definately CAN win, but so CAN Sato, or anyone else taking part
I didn't vote against DC either, DC has a better chance than many as he is a much better driver! _________________ Carol xxx |

Yeah any driver CAN win the race....but even if everyone falls out due to a freak tornado or somthing ( ) im sure Jenson will do something silly, or the car will break down...so he still wouldnt win it!
I know I sound cynical but I just dont think JB has the x-factor |
