DC Returns!! (aka superman returns)
DC delighted with Super podium
David Coulthard was delighted to have scored his first podium for the Red Bull Racing team in Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix.
The Scottish star, who took to the podium bedecked in a Superman cape in reference the team’s movie tie-in this weekend, had looked strong all weekend and was rewarded when Jarno Trulli’s Toyota failed late in the race.
“It’s so great, fantastic,” said the former double Monaco GP winner.
“It’s been a couple of years since I was on the podium, so it’s especially great to finish on it here in Monaco.
“It’s the first podium for Red Bull Racing too and a great reward for all the team’s hard work.”
It was DC’s first podium since Japan 2003, and the Monaco resident admitted that it was hard-earned.
“Monaco’s always a tough race,” he said.
“Once you get into it, you think you’ve done about fifty laps, but then you see that you’ve only done about twelve.
“It’s such a hard, physical race and takes a lot out of you.”

Changing to a two stop race is what clinched it....very well done i must say!! I was getting so worried thinking that David might have to come in again and lose his podium position!
When Trulli stopped I leapt up off my seat, starting jumping up and down and screaming at the top of my voice "HES GOT A PODIUM!!!!"....my mother thought I was crazy hehe!
And what a good sport CH is - haha!
And for RBR - THE ONLY WAY IS UP!!

Had to be honest when the safety car came out and i saw Klien and DC directly behind safety car i was shouting, why arent you going to pit, make the most of it!! Wasnt till everything settled back down that i realised he musnt have needed to pit! So 6th, good result. Then when Klien went out and Rubens got a drive through, is was like yeah 4th, great result. If only he could get passed Trulli! When Trulli crashed out i screamed so loud with excitement. I was like a little kid and was on the edge of my seat for the last 6 laps! 6 laps of fingers crossed, 6 laps of intense waiting. Then the moment came and i was so happy i was almost in tears. It was a fantastic race and so good to see DC back where he belongs. A big well done to him and the team, they really deserved it and i hope theres more to come. Well done DC and RBR, you did it.
PS when Fisi hit him, i thought that was it, but that wing held on tight for the next 60 odd laps

| I didn't realise for a while after first pit stops either that DC was on a 1 stop strategy. great move though and well done to the team. And good on CH for keeping his promise. |

Louise you summed it up perfectly...we must of been twins at that moment.. tbh when Fisi over took DC before the safety period it was then that the cogs turned that DC is one stopping and why would they keep him behind RB for so long if they did'nt plan to change his strategy.
It was nerve adrenaline pumping stuff. those last 6 laps seemed for ever as i retain shouting at the TV.. c'mon DC 100% racer this is what you do best.. 100% support is what im giving . I know you wont let us down, as my fingers clinched and feet twitched lol
I felt so happy i admit i had a lump in my thoat in the penultimate lap. I have recorded the highlights without commercials on DVD in High Res Digital for keeps. this one was long time coming.. The Podium draught has finally come to and end.The spell has been broken. He has made it to the top once again. Monaco, the race of attrition - 100% Driver 100% Racer 100% DC.
Roll On Silverstone. If he does better than Button then its another win in My book. Show the media whos the best. Some of them out there still seem to have doubt But not for long _________________ visit my Play.com Link for better prices :

I know what you mean Roy, I don't dislike Jenson but for DC to get on the podium AND lap Jense in the process is unbelieveable !!!! A lot of the media still refer to JB as being no.1 Britt - how wrong are they !
Have to admitt I was almost in tears and had everything crossed for those last few laps, I could hardly look at the TV !
I feel a bit delicate this AM though, but it was well worth a few scoops to celebrate !! _________________ You don't need eyes to see - you need vision |

I was watching the race in a pub in Portsmouth everyone thought I was mad. I couldn't beleive it when Trulli went out, just before it happened I thought all DC needs for a podium, was for Trulli to have a problem with his car and a couple of minutes he did. I celebrated with a double Vodka and Red Bull.

Can't remember what I celebrated with, I remember having some beer in the kitchen cupboard which went down well - then I vaguely remember walking to the LOCAL to get some more _________________ You don't need eyes to see - you need vision |

| Lmao, I can just picture your celebrating in the pub caz. I'm not suprosed everyone thought you were mad, but it was worth it for a DC podium I'm sure. I celebrated by going to watch some Banger (stock car) racing at Wimbledon stadium, what a fun evening to top off a great day. |
